D&D @ New York Comic Con

Welcome to D&D in the Big Apple. We’re happy to help facilitate this event with DM’s and players around the world to have a fun weekend playing games with friends. This show is coming up SOON!!! (Oct 6th to the 9th) so things are going to move QUICKLY!!!

We’ll go over some basic terminology and then get right to the gathering of information.

  • Slot:  This is a numerical unit of time, or block, the event is built around. For example Slot Two is Thursday 2pm-6pm (EDT). Slot Seven is Saturday 10am-2pm. Using these blocks lets us align our schedule to make it easier for players to play in multiple events without things overlapping and conflicting.
  • Marshalling:  This is the actual day/time of organizing of DM’s and players. Thomas Votaw will be our onsite person who will be handling the where/who/when.

For the NYCC show we will be following the below schedule (All times Easter Standard Time):

Thursday (Oct 6th)Friday (Oct 7th)Saturday (Oct 8th)Sunday (October 9th)
Slot 1: 10am – 2pmSlot 4: 10am – 2pmSlot 7: 10am – 2pmSlot 10: 10am – 2pm

Slot 3: 6pm – 10pmSlot 6: 6pm – 10pmSlot 9: 6pm – 10pm

Please make sure you have read the following two documents and ask any questions you may have before filling out this application. By submitting it you are agreeing to follow the rules and guidelines contained within them.

Events running at New York Comic Con:

D&D Demo (15-20 minutes game)

Introduction to the D&D (90-120 minute game)

Spelljammer Academy #1 to #4 (90-120 minute game) – You MUST already have these on D&D Beyond – I cannot give you them at this point

Dreams of the Red Wizards Intro #1 to #4 (90-120 minute game)

In each of the 4-hour blocks you sign up for, you will run at least 2 of the previous games (and maybe 6 or 7 Demo’s). You will be assigned something for your block but we ask all DM’s to have the D&D Demo and Introduction to D&D games also prepared (they are each a single double sided page – about 10 minutes to read and prep)

Compensation:

We ask for a couple slots of work and in return you will receive a full 4-day NYCC badge to enjoy in your free time. In addition you will receive a hardback book from our selection onsite as thanks from us and Wotc.

Also, if you run games past your initial 12 hours we will pay an additional $20 per 2-hr game you run ($5 per demo). This is paid as part of our monthly DM payout after the show (once the show pays us). This is paid per actual table run, so if we have no players you will be released to go get some autographs or cool merch to make your friends all jelly instead.

DM Registration is OPEN to all with this link. Thanks
