NYCC 2023

Welcome to D&D in the big apple. We’re happy to help DMs and players from around the world to have a fun weekend playing games with friends. This show is coming up SOON!!! (Oct 12th to 15th) so things are going to move QUICKLY!!!

What does NYCC stand for? (New York Comic Con)

We’ll go over some basic terminology and then get right to the gathering of information.

  • Slot:  This is a numerical unit of time, or block, the event is built around. For example Slot 2 is Thursday from 2pm-6pm (EDT). Slot 7 is Saturday from 10am-2pm. Using these blocks lets us align our schedule to make it easier for players to play in multiple events without things overlapping and conflicting.

For NYCC 2023 we will be using the following schedule (all times in Eastern Daylight Time):

Herald’s Guild Member Conduct Document

Events running at NYCC 2023:

D&D Demo (15-20 mins) – This is with the ships and minis. All the fanciness. A trimmed down version of our Intro to D&D adventure.

Introduction to D&D (1.5 – 2-hour game) – You’ll run twice in a 4-hour slot. 1st and 2nd-level characters.

Dreams of the Red Wizards (1.5 – 2-hour game) – INT #1 and #2; you’ll run twice in a 4-hour slot. 1st through 4th-level Forgotten Realms characters.

Dreams of the Red Wizards (3.5-hour game) – DRW OD #1 – 5th through 10th-level Forgotten Realms characters.

Bigby’s Glory of the Giants (3.5-hour game) – 16th-level Forgotten Realms characters with pregens available.

Avalon Hill Boardgames – Heroquest, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and Risk Strike


Compensation:

We ask for a 4 slots of work and in return you will receive a full NYCC badge to enjoy in your free time. We have two hotel rooms. One will be for our 2 admins (Thomas and Les) and the other will be for DMs who are looking to put in a lot of time and are not local (think 7-8 slots). This is a local show so we’re of course looking at our local DMs first over bringing in peeps from out of town.

    We require all DMs to be present and pay attention on discord servers set up for our events, whether in-person or online. This will be our primary means of answering questions quickly as well as the way DMs share resources with each other. It's also how you'll distribute end-of-game rewards to players.
