Welcome to D&D in the city of brotherly love. We’re happy to help DMs and players from around the world to have a fun weekend playing games with friends. This show isn’t too far out even now (Dec 1st to 3rd) so things are going to move pretty fast!
We’ll go over some basic terminology and then get right to the gathering of information.
- Slot: This is a numerical unit of time, or block, the event is built around. For example Slot 2 is Friday from 3pm-7pm (EST). Slot 7 is Sunday from 10am-2pm. Using these blocks lets us align our schedule to make it easier for players to play in multiple events without things overlapping and conflicting.
For PAX Unplugged we will be using the following schedule (all times in Eastern Standard Time):

Events running at PAX Unplugged 2023:
D&D Demo (15 – 20 mins) – Runs in main upstairs hall from 10am to 10pm. Please note that slots are back-to-back, though we will make sure you’re able to take breaks as needed. A trimmed down experience for brand new characters. You’ll take groups on a rolling basis as they get sent to your table.
Introduction to D&D (1.5 – 2-hour game) – Runs in main upstairs hall from 10am to 10pm. Please note that slots are back-to-back, though we will make sure you’re able to take breaks as needed. You’ll run twice in a 4-hour slot. 1st and 2nd-level characters.
Planescape: Turn of Fortune’s Wheel: (3.5-hour game) – Chapter 1 of the new hardcover adventure. 3rd and 4th-level Planescape campaign characters.
Planescape: Feature Event (3.5-hour game) – Epic special event. 3rd and 4th-level Planescape campaign characters.
Classic Adventures – Kicking off the 50th anniversary celebration of D&D a little early – we’ll be running two older edition adventures that were updated to 5e in Tales from the Yawning Portal. Join us for the The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan (Tier 2) and the super classic Tomb of Horrors (Tier 3).
Note: All the Planescape and Classic games listed here will be in our regular play space on the first floor of the convention center, not upstairs in the main hall.
We will also be doing Avalon Hill Games/Demos at the show. This will run in our upstairs main area alongside our booth and D&D space. Their demos consist of Heroquest, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, and the Risk Strike card game. These slots count just like any other towards benefits. Please note that slots are back-to-back, though we will make sure you’re able to take breaks as needed.
Compensation:
We ask for a 3 slots of work and in return you will receive a full PAXU badge to enjoy in your free time. In addition you will receive some cool exclusive show stuff from our selection onsite as thanks from us and Wizards of the Coast.
If you are interested in a room we are looking for 5 slots of work. We have a block of rooms at The Element again with 3 people per room. These will go quickly.
